The Pattern Maker

From “stylization” to “materialization,” the pattern maker creates the form and body of the garment or accessory by making prototypes.

Using drawings, technical charts, and other indications from the fashion designer, the pattern maker creates the most exact pattern possible of each model.

A pattern maker should, more specifically:

  • Have good manual skills and precision as well as an appreciation of technical considerations
  • Have knowledge of sewing and assembly techniques
  • Have listening and dialogue skills
